Te Whakapapa o Te Toka Whanau was given to the chosen ones. Nga Tupuna had many descendants who are scattered all over the motu. Many of the descendants of Wiri Henare Toka are owners in his lands. To the Kai Ahii who are tuturu te whenua in the Kaipara Rohe they would be Aroha to their many relations who live in other areas of Aotearoa.
Nga Tupuna chose who would occupy te whenua of nga tupuna. Many have acknowledged the elders who are still living and the Tikanga of nga Uri o Te Uri O Hau. The Kai Ahii know their tupuna-whenua,moana-arahi, te tupuna, hapu/iwi, wahi tapu/maunga/awa
and are totally in touch with the Wairua o Te Whenua, where they were born, tuturu/tanga. Wiri Henare Toka's whanau are owners in all of Te Taitokerau and where they born they are "Tuturu".
A total Respect for the Kai Ahii of nga tupuna whenua. My naana is fluent in the ancestral lands of nga tupuna Wiri Henare Toka and the "Tikanga".
You are welcome on our lands for those who come in the Wairua come to say "Helo" I am tangata-tika-o-te tupunawhenua. Much Aroha to your whanau, strangers we are but related from a distance.
