I, too, am a descendant of Gladwin. Mere Kingi is mentioned, however I cannot place her whakapapa. Links to Wiremu Kingi Rangitake and Ngati Hei do not make any sense - one is in the Coromandel, the other is in Waitara, Taranaki. Searching either of these two does not locate Mere Kingi. My thoughts are if you cannot locate a connection then there is no connection? As much as I would like an affiliation to either or both, I cannot link Mere Kingi to either whakapapa. Further information about Mere Kingi would be appreciated.
