Kia ora, I am Riki Pihopa from Rotorua, and i am trying to trace the lineage of my koroua Maunganui Anderson. My koroua grew up in Tinopai,attended Tinopai School and (i am told) lived at Kopua??He was born to Huhana Henare-Toka (so my mum tells me). He moved to Auckland to find work where he met my kuia Iraiti Naera from Te Arawa. They moved to Rotorua in the late 40's,early 50's and they lived there, had 9 children (my mum being 2nd eldest) and lived there till his death in 2002. He spoke briefly about where he was from. I am keen to learn this side of mine and be able to relay this korero to my whanau as we are planning a whanau trip to Tinopai for xmas 2012. If there are any whanau who have information about my koroua, or his mama, this will be much appreciated. Kia ora kia koutou.
