Without thought, Arsenal ran at full speed up the slope and, using her hind legs, pushed off into the air. She hung for a moment before falling with a splash into a puddle of mud. Her usual black and white pelt became coated in it, clumps of torn grass dispersed throughout. She shook her head to rid eyes and nostrils of the stuff and glanced around, hoping that no one had witnessed her misjudgment. Spotting no other being in the vicinity, she shrugged off the mistake. At least her father would have a bit of a challenge trying to find her without being able to follow her scent. As Arsenal continued her exploration, more alert in order to avoid further folly, she picked up on the sound of two wolves nearby. She froze in her tracks, seeking the source of the noise. Creeping closer and crouched low to the ground, she stopped behind a small bush and watched the siblings as they walked. ((I'm sorry it took such a long time. I actually wrote it during lunch one day last week and never got the chance to come post. Hopefully I'll have a bit more free time this month.))

Arsenal stepped confidently into the land of the dead, her eyes scanning the area for any opportunity to make mischief. She had never been to this part of the mountain before-that was understandable considering her youth. She had wandered away from her father, Whispering Devil, while he was lazing around the hunting grounds. He would notice Arsenal’s absence and come searching eventually, but he tended to ignore her most of the time. She had no mother, at least that she was aware of. In truth, Whispering Devil had chosen a she-wolf randomly for the single purpose of fulfilling the urge to pass on his genes; Arsenal didn’t know the female’s name and didn’t really care.
