The glowing red eyes of the singlis-rhanqin fell from the skies for a moment, as another wave of hunger swept over her. Fate closed her eyes as her rosy-pink spiked body shivered. She had to feed...and it had to be now...she could not afford to wait any longer. And then, the scent of salvation reached her beak... Glowing red eyes flashed open, searching for the source of the tantilizing smell that made her salivate with hunger. From her partially concealed place beneath the boughs of a willow tree, her predator's gaze finally located a target. A cat-faced griffin. It was a small meal, to be sure, but it was a meal nonetheless. She watched it a moment or two as it moved to lay upon the ground, noting the slowness to its actions. Old or sick, clearly, but that didn't matter to Fate. Nothing mattered except the fact that there was something she could eat. The Singlis-Rhanqin rose to her webbed feet, and as she stepped away from the cover of the willow, the prayer grounds suddenly seemed to be filled with trees. The illusory vegetation surrounded the cat-faced griffin, concealing the presence of the singlis-rhanqin, until she was within a few feet. Only then did the trees vanish...but by then, it was too late for the griffin. Fate lashed out with her killing blessing....finally, she would eat.

It had been a foolish mistake...agreeing to the terms of the tiger, simply so that his little dragon could be spared. It was not a mistake that would be repeated, and one that she would make amends for by killed both his little dragon, and the tiger himself...provided that she managed to survive to do so. Every moment that passed, she knew she was one step closer to starving to death. Her hunger was driving her mad, even as it drove her closer to the grave, but did she have enough time to track down new prey? Did she have enough strength to make a kill?
