He'd come here simply because it was a place of peace. He wanted silence. It was tiring him to be anywhere else. Places where he might see a smile, or hear laughter in the air. These days he found little to be happy about, and it irritated him when he saw others so full of joy.
The wolf trotted through the lands at a slow pace. His muscles moving beneath his glimmering pelt. At least unlike other creatures, he still took good care of himself when he was depressed. He could find no reason to let himself go to shambles just because he wasn't cheerful. It sickened him to see other mopey creatures, upset about one thing or another, covered in dirt and grime, nothing but skin and bones. Or those that turned to the easy way out and took their own life. They were pathetic. They were weak. He refused to be like them.
Child of Frost cast his freezing blue eyes around the land. It was dim here, even in the day it always semed to have a dark type of gloom. He wondered briefly if there was anyone he'd known in these lands, laid to rest beneath the earth. He'd known death, and yet he couldn't really place any specific creature he'd known to a memory of loss. Maybe he'd forced it to leave his mind because it had caused him great pain. That was doubtful though. More likely, he'd just forgotten. It hadn't really ever been his character to form attatchments.
A voice caused his ears to swerve, automatically attempting to better focus on the sound. It was instinct of course. For a moment he figured it was just someone whispering a blessing to a loved one that had passed. Something in his mind clicked though and brought a feeling that caused him to listen closer. It was some type of whispered prayer. To be a flower. Who would pray for such a thing? The wolf turned his face, focusing on the female that lay on the mound, hoping for such a silly thing.
Then the recognition came. It rushed over him like a wave of pins and needles. It caused his stomach to lurch and his heart to quicken. His mind spun, and he quickly examined his options. He could run; simply turn tail and flee. He could grant her wish; attack her and rip her to shreds, leave her body to join the soil for all the harm she'd done to him. Or, he could do what he found himself doing now. Approach her.
"A flower may do all those things, but I've never seen a flower so lovely as you..." Child of Frost paused in front of the female, lowering his head, his body tense. "I bet the flowers see you and cry out 'Oh! I am a flower, I am supposed to be the beauty in this world. Yet I do not compare to that glorious creature. If only I could be Megumi, and be so wonderous to look upon.'" He looked down at his paws and fell silent, a frown on his face.
