It wasn't unusual that creatures came into the lands with such expressions. They all looked like they had lost something. The little spirit just didn't know what it was that they had lost.
Cailean had spent more time as a ghost than he had spent living. He had barely started opening his eyes when a large set of teeth clamped down on him and shook away his life force. Cailean just thought that it was a part of life to be like this. He didn't know any different. The pup spirit had met his sister in this place once or twice. She certainly wasn't the sister he remember. She was much bigger and vowed to return him to the living land.
Not that he actually understood what she meant. He just agreed to it because it seemed to make her happy. But he hadn't seen her in a long time. And her promise to bring Momma here went un-fufilled...
Cailean saw the female with her eyes closed and curiously came up to her. The translucent canine had his head tilted, an ear tilted upwards as he watched her. "Momma?" She sort of reminded him of his momma for some reason.
