"Most of us don't," he said, his voice almost a whisper. No, most creatures did not become spirits by choice. How the gods were cruel to the living, whether it was for fun or not, Lucien could never tell. He was looking at Cryota at the moment, only to be drawn to Kinu.
The snow leopard shook his head slightly, "I'm sorry to hear that. If I could help, I would. But even in death, my abilities are limited." He paused for a moment, going over the words of their father still being alive. Surely the father would have died to save his young? Lucien was confused by this notion, "So, you met death before your father? Surely, this creature would have killed him first as he would be the one to do the most damage."
It was strange, to think that parents could outlive their pups. He meant no disrespect to the pair's father, but merely displayed concern that the father might not have protected them to the best of his ability.
