Re: PRS For pantomime Songs
No, but you wouldn't be able to do songs from The Greatest Showman in that setting...obviously nobody can stop you setting anything in a circus / using spesh acts, but you can't do it in conjunction with singing songs from The Greatest Showman
How can that be when Goldilocks and the Three Bears is a panto set in a circus with a ringmaster...they can't stop you doing that
You can apply to Warner Chappell for use of Disney & Grease songs - the last time I applied to them for Disney it was a straight no, but never tried for Grease.
The latest on The Greatest Showman is that you CAN use the songs and PRS will license them to you BUT you can't refer to the film in ANY way - i.e. no circus acts, no ringmaster, no mention of Barnum and no scenery or costumes which suggest a circus. I've literally just been having this conversation with my PRS rep so that's as it stands at the moment.
Grease (original musical) is a no-no
Hi Does anyone know if you are aloud to use songs from Grease the Musical in panto? I am ideally wanting to use a short version of we go together in pantomime this year. I know you cant performer any Disney songs, Abba Songs or Greatest Showman songs in pantomime but I wasn't too sure on Grease.
