: Okay, since nobody on here is talking I guess
: I’ll stop lurking and respond. Well, I have
: to say I love the cover by Art Addams. As
: much as I'm not a total fan of his original
: costume, I think Addams makes it look cool.
:
: I especially like seeing the original Stan
: Lee Don Heck issue reprinted on glossy
: paper. Heck’s art still looks great and now
: with the vivid colors, it really makes his
: work stand out. I especially like his
: version of the Executioner. He draws him
: with a completely insane look on his face in
: every close-up.
:
: I love the back-up story revealing how
: Wonder Man kidnapped the Wasp, which wasn’t
: shown or explained in the actual issue. The
: best parts of the classic reprints are the
: covers and the Untold Tales of the Avengers.
:
: I like the back story art it’s very
: stylized, like Bruce Timm’s art. I
: especially dig that Wonder Man was using his
: rocket belt to spy on Wasp as well as his
: autograph signing after saving her from the
: horse he caused to run amok with Zemo’s gun.
:
: I think my favorite part was Simon using
: his hands like the Hulk to make a sonic
: boom. It’s really not emphasized enough in
: the modern comics that Wonder Man’s fists
: are supposed to be the equivalent of Thor’s
: Hammer in raw power.
:
: Lastly I like that Wonder Man removes his
: helmet when he takes Wasp into the ship.
: It’s a small detail, but it just makes sense
: to me that the guy wouldn’t wear that thing
: constantly if he didn’t have to.
:
: Don’t get me wrong, I can understand the
: need for the helmet and goggles disguise in
: order to mask his identity from the Avengers
: at the time. Still I find it strange that
: they wouldn’t have to unmask him in order to
: run some of the tests on him in order to
: cure his condition.
:
: Still, I enjoyed the issue a lot and I agree
: with Mitchell, seeing an extended version of
: Wonder Man’s first stint with the Avengers
: would be cool. I was disappointed with the
: AVENGERS limited series that retold the
: Avengers original run and it completely left
: out Wonder Man while focusing on Zemo and
: Captain America. While the mini series and
: art was great it just seemed like a blown
: opportunity to explore Wonder Man’s short
: time with the team.
