Why would they bother throwing convoluted backstory at a movie audience like that? To succeeed, the movie has to be much, much more than comics fans. Today's movie fans are well aware of basic AI concepts and you'd hardly need SImon Williams' presence to explain how the Vision can think and feel. Don't seriously expect a movie version of Vision to drag Wonder Man along with him.
