: The disrespect is evident in the way Tiger
: Shark refers to Thor and Iron Man as the
: "Yankees" and Wondy as the
: "Brewers".
:
: That is nothing new--a lot of the MU doesn't
: seem to respect any of the Avengers outside
: the "Big Three"; it isn't specific
: to Wondy. The attitude even extends to some
: of the readers--a lot of people say it isn't
: *really* the Avengers if some (or all) of
: the Big Three aren't present.
Yes but I think Wondy seemed to be disrespected more then the others. Maybe it has to with the fact that he is seen by some villains and heroes as a part-time hero who wanted to be an actor.
:
: I liked the first issue, and I am very
: curious to see where this is going--but I
: think this *could* potentially hurt Wondy's
: character to some degree. Simon teaming up
: with his brother and joining a team of
: criminals and murderers could damage his rep
: with some readers, and give the
: Wondy-bashers more ammo. But we'll have to
: see how it all plays out. In any case, I
: thought it was a very promising start.
I don't thing anything will change the minds of the Wondy Haters. Whatever the outcome of this series, it may give Wondy's character the shot in the arm it needs to make other writers want to use him more.
:
: I am also pleased to see Reaper and Nekra
: back together again--I guess she's forgiven
: him for murdering her and absorbing her life
: force...
:
I also remember that Reaper would also demean her due to the fact that she is an albino. He was depicted as being very racist in that AWC arc.
