: I simply can't get myself to pay money for a
: Bendis comic despite Simon being in the
: book, it just keeps the guy employed that
: much longer. I was hoping Cap could recruit
: him as a powerhouse for Brubaker's team but
: Bendis got dibs on Simon and nothing really
: good can come from it. He'll never go back
: to his roots because he doesn't write ANYONE
: as they have been developed over time, just
: as what he wants them to be. Sure he was
: designed as a guy that could go up against
: the Avengers.. but he's a hero at heart and
: sacrificed himself on their behalf. THAT's
: who Simon is.
:
: My hopes are that Simon isn't destroyed as a
: character in this book any worse than the
: treatment he received in the Masters of Evil
: or whatever that mini was where he was
: relegated to being protected by guards in
: prison. In the past 5 or 7 years Simon's
: been defamed, depowered and had his very
: character stripped of everything that's made
: him one of Marvel's greatest heroes.

Well said, CyberCoyote..and glad to see you back!
I can't understand why people hate the character and not the way writers have treated him. I honestly feel most of the hate comes from the Vision/Wanda breakup. People feel he is the reason one of Marvel's beloved couples broke up. But to me, it only makes sense that Simon was in love with Wanda, also. Not wanting to help the Vision in fear of never having a chance at Wanda's love was only natural.
I, too, fear Bendis is just going to destroy the character even more...but who knows.
