Joining the station will be "The Truck Stop" with the Ole Bull Rider, Steve Heimel. 3 hours of classic country brought to you by Steve's hard work and the facilities of KNBA Radio in anchorage. Sundays 12 to 3pm.
The Anonymous Eskimo Project is doing way and in its place will be an automated hour of music variety until something else suitable is found for the slots. Saturdays at 3pm and Sundays at 8pm.
Indigenous In Music will be moving to an earlier start time on Sunday (8 to 10pm). Saturdays remain the same (6 to 8pm)
World Cafe will be moving to a 1 to 3am Weekday airing instead of 10pm to midnight.
Joining the station will be "The Mainstream" With Brett Maybee. A fun and eclectic mix of contemporary and classic hits with special attention given to the Native/Indigenous musicians. The show is somewhat similar to the old "Under Currents" 7 days a week 10pm to 1am.
I wholeheartedly believe theres more value from an entertainment and educational standpoint to a hosted show then our computer putting out random automated tunes and that along with two shoes ending, The Anonymous Eskimo Project And If That Ain't Country are why with the change to our new automation system, I decided to undertake the process of working the new shows form KNBA and Brett into our programming and the station.
When removing a show from our schedule, moving its time slot or something similar.. it doesn't mean I don't think it has value, just means I've found something I think you'll enjoy even more and I want it to get to your ears at the most opportune time!
