AAT has made some positive changes to our pricing for Nikolai and Takotna service. These are changes are driven by community input during the TCC Upper Kuskokwim Sub Region Meeting last fall, and the recent Upper Kuskokwim Health Advisory Committee meeting.
Since AAT has been awarded the McGrath EAS with subsidy, which is very well defined contract, most questions and concerns voiced related to improving unsubsidized service delivery to Nikolai and Takotna such as returning to a 3- day per week schedule, and finding creative ways to reduce resident fares and freight pricing for Nikolai and Takotna scheduled service. We promised to address those concerns once the McGrath EAS was underway and now is the time.
2/12/2025 Summary of changes to schedule and fares for Nikolai and Takotna:
Weekly Schedule for Nikolai and Takotna: Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday flights.
We discounted the local Resident self-paid fare by 20% from $310 to $250 one-way fare.
The Standard Fare was increased by 2% from $540 to $550 one-way fare.
The Inter-village fares remain unchanged at $125 for local residents and $550 for Standard fare.
Space available freight MRI to Nikolai or Takotna is remains $1.80 per pound ($10 minimum).
We discounted the space available inter-village freight price from McGrath to Takotna or Nikolai by 55% from $1.80 per pound to $1.00 per pound ($10 minimum).
We hope that the discounted inter-village freight price will help community members to ship more goods from the McGrath hub, such as care packages to family members, and McGrath AC store groceries and supplies.
Finally, we have attached a summary of our pricing to this email.
Your honest input is important for us. AAT promises to listen and to continue to work for creative ways to improve our service in the Upper Kuskokwim communities. Thank you!
Please let us know if you have questions or ideas to share.
