It was 1977 when her husband, Mike Harrington thought McGrath and environs deserved a radio station. She was right by his side for the 4 years of discussion, planning, fundraising and building. KSKO signed on July 1st 1981 at 601am with John Paul Young's "Love Is In The Air"
She was an incredibly smart woman who cared about the people in her orb and held life long friendships. You know she cared about you because she wouldn't have offered advice or suggestions if she didn't.
She was the VERY FIRST person I met in McGrath, literally... she was the one who picked me up at the airport October 30, 2020. I lovingly referred to her as the KSKO Mother, saying every station needed one. She provided so much invaluable advice to not only me but the station and board as a whole that helped us steer our way through life even long after she wasn't on the board.
In her later years, when she was in McGrath over the summer, she was always pitching in when we needed help.. wether it was for Bingo By The Bank or I needed a DJ on the air for the afternoon.
And being that I'm from Connecticut, I always appreciated/got a kick out of the fact that Long Island accent never completely left her even though she hadn't lived on Long Island in more than 45 plus years.
Isabelle... you are so loved, appreciated, respect and missed. Thank you for playing such a huge part of McGrath's history
