Friday, May 2nd, 3-5pm: Pop-in Pressure Canner Gauge Testing & Extension Publications Drop in to grab some UAF Cooperative Extension publications, ask questions and get your pressure canner dial gauge tested. Marisa can also test your dial gauge after the pressure canning class on Thursday.
Friday, May 2nd, 5:30-7pm: Pickling & Water Bath Canning Learn how to make and preserve your own pickles in this hands-on class.
Saturday, May 3rd, noon-1pm: Food Preservation 101 This presentation-based class will explain food preservation and review the main methods for preserving food at home, including canning, dehydrating, & freezing.
Saturday, May 3rd, 2-5pm: Canning the Fish Catch Learn to safely preserve meat and fish using a pressure canner.
Sunday, May 4th, noon-1:30pm: Soil Fertility & Composting Learn how to improve your soils and grow bigger and better vegetables. Topics include soil sampling, how to address missing nutrients, composting techniques and best practices.

We have added a fermentation demonstration to the Pickling & Water Bath Canning workshop.
Marisa will also add information on fermentation and freeze-drying to the Food Preservation 101 workshop for those who were interested.
