It is my understanding that if your dog has had a Parvo vaccination within three years, it is fully protected. In March 2024, when the Alaska native veterinarian services were performing in McGrath vaccinations were given in a five in one vaccine which included Parvo: The Parvo vaccine is good for three years and your dog should be fully protected. The rabies is good for one year and after that one year you should get a three-year booster. I got our dog the three year booster when I took her to Anchorage and they told me that the rabies shot I got in 2024 needed a booster a year later. I am not sure if the ANVC is tracking our dogs based on previous visits. I think it’s up to us to keep track of the history and follow up and ask questions. I did my research with AI And Angie is going to check with the doctors on the Parvo requirement. There is a box in the left-hand corner of the vaccination certificates that were issued. The box has two options, one year and three year. My one year box was checked. As I understand it the one year box only pertains to rabies as explained by AI I guess it’s best to wait and see what the doctors say but I believe the 3 year rabies booster should be given to be current.
