Being a collector in the digital era

I enjoyed David's article. Because I've used it for several years, one thing I didn't quite understand is why Winamp is "totally unsuited to classical music". I organise music by composer/work and have a searchable database of all recordings so I don't using the tagging at all. I am generally happy with higher bit rate mp3 although I will take the flac files if they are no more expensive. In this scenario Winamp seems fine and, importantly, it segues between mp3 tracks where the music is continuous very well.
