Bruckner 4th: the 1881 version

Re: Dave Billinge's review of the Thielemann Bruckner Fourth (9th September). Bruckner replaced his original finale in 1880 and it was this version that was played at the premiere in 1881. The so-called 1881 edition used by Thielemann is essentially the same as the 1880 one, albeit with minor cuts/revisions. This incarnation, also known as the First Definitive Version, was published by Haas in 1936. No doubt seasoned Brucknerians will put me right if I'm wrong!
