I am in full agreement with the preceding comments regarding both the greatness of Klemperer's recording and the inadequacy of the egregious Gardiner but am at a loss to understand how anyone could call Janowitz's contribution in the Karajan set "jarring"; her soaring, effulgent soprano in the "Benedictus" constitutes the high-point of the whole thing.
