Re: Rattle again!
Amid all the Rattle bashing, with which I largely agree, I would point to his Mahler's 10th as a recording(s) which will last. His recording of Das Klagende Leid is the best I've heard, certainly better than the Chailly recording recently recommended on this site. But these may be what I call "accidental masterpieces", a phenomenon I have observed in all fields of art, whereby someone will produce one or two things that are genuinely great, whilst the rest of their output is mediocre.
