Christopher Howell article on Vladimir Delman

I sang the role of Onegin in Venice with Delman in June of 1993. I spent a day in private coaching of the role with him in preparation for some of the best Onegins of my career. I was so lucky to have gotten an immense amount of insight into the character and music of Onegin that I used in my performances of the role all over the world . I have a very good quality dvd of an entire performance which begins with the camera on Delman as he conducts the opening orchestral introduction. I saw his temper in rehearsals with musicians and other singers . Luckily he immediately took a liking to me and spent so much time shaping my performances which I will always be grateful for.
