No-one seems to have mentioned that, in both the mono original and the 1962 stereo "remake", Ormandy makes a sizeable cut in the closing pages of "The Young Prince and Princess", excising the nostalgic reminiscence of the dancing central section.
At Ormandy's tempo, this amounts to about a minute and a quarter of music - yet, curiously, although I KNOW it is missing, there is (thankfully) no trace of any accompanying jolt. I hope that this reaction is shared by anyone else who enjoys taking a ride on Ormandy's magic carpet!
