Who is the best Violetta on record is certainly open for debate but I just found his assessment of Moffo very unfair.

As it happens, although my taste often chimes with Bob Farr's, in this case I agree with you in that I gave Anna Moffo's Violetta a strong endorsement in my survey of La traviata:

and the only reason neither she nor Caballé is my first recommendation is because I always put Callas first and I like the less well-known Gardelli recording so much.
