For those who have enjoyed the music of Xaver Scharwenka I just wanted to point out his interesting autobiography (Sounds From My Life: Reminiscences of a Musician) which I had translated a number of years ago. The book contains a CD with many examples of his music and an exhaustive list of his works and recordings. If interested I'd try your local library.
