I've just recently given his L'Assedio di Corinto another hearing after reading Ralph Moore's article about harder to find Rossini operas. I didn't much care for Schippers interventions, but then my ears have become accustomed to performances based on critical editions. Most of his changes at least involved music written by Rossini, with the exception of an aria de baule for La Sills in the third act finale -- Vittoria, Vittoria/Parmi verdo, ahi misero from Pacini's Amazilia. Not that Rossini would have cared, as Ralph mentions.
