I had no knowledge of Mr. Hallis before this Youtube post. I've been listening to this concerto for over 60 years and can't recall ever hearing a finer performance.
Kudos to Maestro Cree and the SABC Symphony as well. Both soloist and orchestra are in perfect sync interpretively, IMHO.
I hope you agree.
