At the risk of stating the obvious, there is a chance for Mr Quinn to hear Albert Sammons playing Ireland's 2nd Violin Sonata - the 1930 recording (never issued at the time) with the composer at the piano, was released on one of the earliest Dutton Epoch CDs, in 1999, and the same performance is on a certain interweb video sharing site.
It's a fabulous work with a gorgeous slow movement - needless to say the nearly one-hundred year old recording is imperishable.
