
Recall that this was 1986. Before Cable TV and The Weather Channel and its reporters reporting from the midst of hurricanes. It was before the internet. It was before GoPro cameras and the now ubiquitous use of cameras on drones. It was before cell phones and their cameras using which we all now routinely record our lives for family, friends, and public. There is music that gives a sense of a hurricane storm (the score for the film Key Largo and its hurricane comes to mind). But I don't think an composer before, or maybe since, attempted something on the scale Mr. Brant did.
