I’m happy to read about Mahler 10, Stanford and much else musical every day but I wonder if anyone who reads MusicWeb is in a position to reissue Wyn Morris’s Mahler recordings? I have the original LP issues of 1, 8 & 10 plus 'Klagende Lied' and the 'Wunderhorn' songs and 9 on CD bit would much like to have some of the others I’m not sure quite how many he recorded - certainly the ‘Resurrection’ which I’ve never heard. I’d like to add it to the eighteen I already have - what was that about obsessives?!
His Beethoven symphonies were pretty good too, I seem to remember.
Morris' Resurrection' (that sounds a bit like a religious experience......!) can be found on YouTube.
The Beethoven cycle with the LSO is genuinely fine in a fairly old-school way and hard copies can be picked up cheaply while a complete set at fairly low bit rates is available from classicselectworld.com for £1(!)
(I've downloaded a lot from this site and it is secure and legit)
