My sincere thanks to my colleague Philip Harrison for digging me out of the hole by sending this to me electronically, so I was able to complete my survey which will appear shortly.

The Royal Mail have somewhat scuppered a survey I am doing of Cilea's "L'Arlesiana" by losing a recording of it I was at first pleased to have found, as copies are rare: it is a live performance in Montpellier in 2005, conducted Friedemann Layer on the Accord label.

I would be grateful to any reader who could arrange for me to at least hear it, in order to complete my survey.

I might add that in my recent experience, delivery via Royal Mail has effectively become a lottery: I have had no fewer than three things completely lost in the last few weeks.
