Paul, I am reposting John's message as I accidentally deleted it!:
"Thank you, Paul. Despite searching online - thoroughly, as I thought - I missed the 14th symphony and also that No 6 has not been recorded by BIS. I'll amend the review
Regards
John."

In his review of Kalevi Aho's 17th symphony, John Quinn lists Symphony 14, along with 16 and 18, as three works as yet unrecorded by Bis.
But the 14th, entitled "Rituals," has been recorded, on Bis 1686, as the final part of a triptych that also includes his Book of Questions and Viola Concerto. The notes include the composer's comment that these three works were composed as "an entire concert program," so that "When played together, [they] must form an unbroken, in dramatic terms closely-thought out unity that would retain the listeners' active interest."
They certainly retain mine, and they're one of my favorite works of this composer.
