Brian Wilson and Quobuz

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Brian Wilson's Second Thoughts and spring Round Up and was pleased to see that he was able to provide more info on the availability of several recordings in the Neglected recordings article. In his summation he does advise using Quobuz to download high resolution files of many of the recordings he surveyed. sadly this is not an option for all too many of us as Quobuz has not made itself available to a large number of nations including the majority of Europe and not a single one of the Commonwealth countries. Hopefully this France based company will come to its senses and open up to the rest of the music consumer world before too long.
I'm pleased that my round-ups are being read. Thanks for the reminder that Qobuz is not available widely outside France and the UK. I don't have any contact with them, but perhaps they will read this and consider expanding their availability. I'm far from alone in considering lossless streaming and downloading to be far superior to mp3, even mp3 at the top bit-rate; Beulah strongly recommend Qobuz, though other dealers sell their downloads, in mp3, for the same price. I do, wherever relevant, also give links to Presto, who sell not only CDs and SACDs, but also lossless downloads, sometimes even in 24-bit. BIS (via eclassical.com), Chandos and Hyperion also offer their own and other labels' recordings in lossless sound and often in 24-bit, even in 5.0 surround. As far as I know all these are open to worldwide purchasers.
