Ralph Moore visits Robert Massard
Posted by George Melkonian on November 7, 2023, 11:00 pm
Ralph I just saw your posting of your visit with Robert Massard and I can only imagine what a great time you must have had. It’s hard to believe that the man is 98 and the photo of you two shows a couple of sharp looking dudes. Also, I want to commend and encourage you to review more of the Malibrand recordings. Yes, they’re historical and mono but quite a few have good clear sound. There’s quite a bit of gold in those old vaults. And last week I was retrieving some cd sets from the downstairs dungeon and I actually had on my desk L’Opera de Paris while reading your review the other day. I realize that I never got around to listening to CDs 9 and 10 so off to the listening room. Regards and keep up the great work.
Thank you very much, George; that was indeed a lovely trip and having recently reviewed a few Malibran issues, I am taking another look at their catalogue to see what else I can comment upon. It is always a pleasure to hear from like-minded readers/listeners like yourself.
