Constance Warren Heather Hill for String Orchestra

Posted by Bryan Nies on June 19, 2024, 8:03 pm

Hello,
I am looking for publication information for constance Warren's Heather Hill for String Orchestra. I am having great difficulty finding any publishing information at all about it (but thank you to the post here about her: https://www.musicweb-international.com/classrev/2022/Jan/Warren-Heather-hill.htm)

Can anyone help connect me to someone where I might be able to utilize the music and score for upcoming performances with the Symphony of the Redwoods (in Mendocino, CA, USA)?
Thank you,
Bryan Nies

Hi,

I don't have a direct knowledge/link to any published parts. My guess would be it was never published but someone has written the parts out from a manuscript score. But I see that in the link you include there is a reference to a recent performance by the West Forest Sinfonia (what is it about orchestras linked to Woods wanting to play this piece!?!?) recently and this is their website;

https://www.westforestsinfonia.org/index.php

I would suggest contacting them direct as their librarian would know what materials they used.... Their conductor Philip Ellis I know from his distant days as a percussionist! If you find out something do let us know - I've considered programming this piece too....

Birmingham conservatoire archives has some of her music. Contact the library staff there.

I have a beautiful set of parts and a score for this piece, but I don't have a way to contact either of you to let you know how to get them. Bryan, I have sent you a message in facebook and emails to contact people at the symphony of the redwoods and no response. Nick I don't have enough information to figure out how to contact you.

Hi Kay! I happened upon this piece recently, and would be very interested in the parts/score as well. Would you email me director(a)blueridgeorchestra.org?
