I have been scouring the different sites throughout the internet and one question that seems to been asked by different people is how did Thanos, Drax, Peter Quill (Starlord) and possibility Rider Nova himself escape the Cancerverse.
Since the fault line was closed by the sacrifice of Rider/Nova and Peter Quill, escaping the Cancerverse would be very difficult.
One way of escaping the Cancerverse and return back to 616 is through Nova's ability to generate a Stargate.
As describe by Novaprimepage's Novapedia, a stargate "is a mechanical apparatus created by the Shi'ar Empire which links space, warp space and interlocking realities together. Xandar was given the Star Gate technology as a result of their alliance with the Shi'ar. Nova's access to the Star Gate is achieved by combining certain aspects of his Nova powers together. The combination of the Tesseract Release, the Systems-Adapt Mode, the Flight Navigation Sensors and Gravimetric Pulse open the Star Gate with the destination determined by Nova."
The cover image for GotG #18 shows Thanos's uniform is growing. This might be due to Rider either force to give some of his Nova Force power to Thanos to either help fight Shuma-Gorath of the Cancerverse.
He could also give some of his Nova Power to Thanos because he is processing to much Nova Force and needs to release some of it so that he will not be driven insane.
It could also be Quill somehow convince Rider to give Thanos some of his Nova Force.
There might also be a Cancerverse version of Rider Nova Prime that somehow aid Thanos and give some of his Nova Force to Thanos.
Either way, using the Nova Force to create a stargate seems to be the most logical explanation as to how they escape the Cancerverse.
