As we know, Isabel Sanford (THE JEFFERSONS) was a featured guest star in season 5's "Samantha Goes South For a Spell."
I recently saw "Samantha Twitches For UNICEF" from later that season, and during the restaurant scene between Mr. Haskell and Miss Layton, it appears to be Isabel as a background extra.
Can someone confirm what my middle-aged eyesight is telling me, or is it just someone who resembles Isabel?
She had few credits between 1968 and joining ALL IN THE FAMILY in 1971. She once said in an interview that prior to AITF she was starved for acting work and about to go on assistance, so taking work like this as an unbilled extra in 1969 is possible.

It's hard to say for sure, Shemp, but I don't think it's her. Something about her eyes--the wider distance between them, maybe?
Do you know that the scene with Miss Layton and Sam in the dressing room was new to me when I bought the DVD? I was so thrilled to see new footage! Between TBS and Nick at Night, they'd cut that part.
And what about Miss Layton's beehive??? Wow, that piece of fluff must be 12 inches high at least! Amazing that that was considered beautiful in the 1960s (and the 1700s, too, now that I think about it!)"Witches are good! Witches are dear!"
It is hard to tell with the quality of the youtube video, but I don't think it's her. I do think they have similar mannerisms. To me the woman in the background seems younger for some reason.
On a side note, did you check out her false eyelashes? Those things were HUGE. For some reason that was the style back then. Check out the intro to That Girl sometime. Her false eye lashes are so thick that when she's supposed to wink she can't shut her eye.

Back then I thought Marlo Thomas's flipped up hair, bangs and falsies (eyelashes, that is) were GORGEOUS. My teenage neighbor rolled her hair on orange juice cans, and when our school bus went over bumps in the road, those curls would bounce and I with my Twiggy pixie haircut would sigh with envy.
Anybody remember how grown women would pin big ol' velvet bows in their hair, too?"Witches are good! Witches are dear!"
