O.k.. I know that my wife and I are a little weird. We take Bewitched a little too far. We collect things that were used on the show. Not that actual props but the same make, model, etc.. I even tried to make my bedroom as close to Sam and Darrin's as I could without moving walls or doing any kind of demolition. I have the same headboard, bedroom set, bedspread, color walls, clock and decor that Sam and Darrin had.
Having said all that, tonight made being a Bewitched nut oohhh sooo rewarding. My wife made cocovan from scratch from an old recipe she got from someone who got it from their grandmother. It took her three hours but it was freakin' awesome! Surprisingly, it wasn't in the Culinary Arts Institute Encyclopedic Cookbook (say that ten times fast) that I got my wife for Christmas.
Sorry to share so much but tonight made me very happy to be a Bewitched fan.
Now, if I could only manage to build my very own 1164 house. C'mon lottery!I demand your pickle!

Yay! I'm glad the recipe was a success. Now she can whip it up any time you have a million dollar client coming over!Sow's ears are not made into silk purses by the addition of a few dandelions, Samantha!
Yep, we're both "into" it. Sometimes I'm a little embarrassed that I'm probably a little more into it than my wife is. But she's a huge fan too.
It takes three hours to make chicken cocovan so I had to brag on my wife. But really, it came out fantastic. In a twisted way it would be cool if I broke out in hives after eating chicken cacciatore. I'm sure that the "cool" factor would wear off pretty quick though.
Real life Bewitched moments are too cool.I demand your pickle!
Awesome! Have fun with it. You know, I'm not sure that our recipe for cocovan is spelled correctly. coq co van (or vin) might be the right way to spell this. My wife got her recipe from a friend that got it from her grandmother. So, I am not sure if what we have is spelled correctly. O well, it was good.I demand your pickle!
It's actually coq au vin, which might make it a little easier to find recipes and information! Looking forward to trying this one day myself! *~MorningGloryCircleGirl~* .+.:*~we live in the~*:.+. `+.:*sparkle of a star*:.+`
That is such a cool story! I once made veal marsol (sp?) b/c that is what Endora had when they helped out Mario! It was yummy too!!I'm a stay at home mom, just like Samantha!
