Ernest Borgnine,Academy Award-winning actor who won an Oscar for his starring role in the movie "Marty" and starred in the disaster film "The Poseidon Adventure",has passed away at age 95. For classic TV buffs, he will always be known as Commander Quinton McHale on the sitcom "McHale's Navy". He was probably one of the most fan-friendly actors in show business and a very nice guy in real-life. R.I.P. Ernest Borgnine.

I'm not surprised he was fan friendly. He seemed so unaffected by his celebrity. So wonderful that this classic oscar-winning star enjoyed such a long life.

I loved Mr. Borgnine in McHale's Navy. I also love his work as Mermaid Man on SpongeBob SquarePants.n He and Tim Conway are a hoot!
