A Marion Lorne Film Appearance From 1934?

In the Vitaphone comedy short film linked below, A PEACH OF A PAIR (1934)...

At the 12:15 mark, could that be Marion Lorne?

I took particular note of her voice, and she's wearing a black onyx pinky ring on her right hand, just like Marion did on BEWITCHED. Vitaphone Studios were in Brooklyn-Queens, and regularly featured east coast based actors, especially those working on Broadway and in vaudeville. Per IBdb.com, Marion's playwright husband had a show on Broadway at the time this was filmed (Sept. 1934), so although they lived in England in the 1930s, they probably were in NYC at this time.

What'a'ya think?

My goodness -- it sure looks and sounds like Ms. Lorne to me! Even through the puckered lips required by this role, you can still hear a Clara-like inflection. I look forward to finding out whether other Harpies will agree.

At first I didn't think it was her, but once I heard the voice I changed my mind. She also was very comical with her facial expressions as Aunt Clara--this woman has a very dexterous face! The only difference I see is around her nose--this woman's nose is aquiline; "Aunt Clara" seemed to have a broader nose. But that voice---!

My [aging] eye tells me that's Marion's nose.

Oh, that's good. I couldn't get that clear a shot. I'm curious--did you just notice her, or were you looking at the movie, thinking she might be in it? It's a great catch!

It was an accidental catch. I was watching the film as part of a longtime, ongoing project of ID'ing-&-confirming unbilled supporting players in the films of The Three Stooges (as I'm sure you noticed, Shemp Howard is the star of this film).

Looking to confirm Margaret Irving as the younger party guest on the other side of the table (fyi, it is her), and as many times as I've seen A PEACH OF A PAIR, this is the first time Marion Lorne jumped out and caught my notice.

One other question... has anyone ever found an online picture of Marion's husband Walter Hackett? Two of the three actors sitting at the table aren't ID'ed... the man sitting on Marion's right, and the bald, monocled man on the other side of the table. (The actor sitting directly opposite Marion is Donald MacBride.) Exploring the outside possibility that he joined his wife on-camera.

I'm leaning toward it being her, especially hearing the voice, but she still doesn't look like Marion to me.

And I have never seen a picture of her husband. That would be a great find!
