I didn't think it was possible, but I found a new reverse reference. In #3, "Mother Meets What's-His-Name," Endora refers to Diogenes, or "one of those young, good-looking Greeks who talked an awful lot." (Enter THIS into the discussion about Endora's age!) There are many Greek philosophers named Diogenes, but it is Diogenes of Sinope who is the most famous and more than likely the one to whom Endora refers. Diogenes lived in the late 5th and early 4th century BC and was an early Cynic (later to become the school of Stoicism). One famous anecdote about Diogenes held that he walked about during the day with a lighted lamp, used for "looking for an honest man" in the city. Endora reports that Diogenes said that humans are "among the silliest" of animals. Spoken like a true Cynic! "Witches are good! Witches are dear!"

Thanks! That is really interesting to tink about in respect to her age Sow's ears are not made into silk purses by the addition of a few dandelions, Samantha!
I noticed that Paul mentions this in his article about Endora's age. It makes all our past arguments about Bluebeard and Shakespeare rather pointless!"Witches are good! Witches are dear!"
