R.I.P. Michael Ansara, 91, 'Rufus the Red'

Announced by The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Ansara passed away on July 31, age 91.

BEWITCHED fans know him as 'Rufus the Red' in season 3's "A Most Unusual Wood Nymph." Married to Barbara Eden 1958 - 1974, he appeared on his wife's I DREAM OF JEANNIE a few times, notably Jeannie's nemesis 'The Blue Djinn,' and later as Hawaii's 'King Kamehameha.'

Michael Ansara also appeared in the film Dear Dead Delilah with Agnes Moorehead.

I loved that he could pull off being an Irishman. He was a very distinctive persona, but also able to morph into so many characters. What a good, full life.
