Recently released on DVD is "CHINA BEACH Season 2." The episode "Vets" is an hour of interview clips featuring Army nurses, USO performers, and Armed Forces Radio celebrity Chris Noel.
You may remember Chris from BW's 1st season episode "Love Is Blind," as Kermit's snooty ex-girlfriend Susan. Chris ended her acting career in the 1960s when she volunteered to go to Viet Nam for Armed Services Radio. Her life has since been dedicated to veterans affairs, and she's been vocal about her PTS syndrome and her Green Beret husband who killed himself while suffering from the same illness.
This episode of CHINA BEACH is 25 years old, but as Chris guest-starred in a popular episode of BEWITCHED, I thought some of you may be interested in catching it sometime.
What great way to give back and possibly heal her broken heart. The department of defense has introduced many programs to assist our veterans with any mental issues they may be experiencing.
Hats off to Chris. What a great and compassionate lady.
Up until recently I knew nothing of Chris apart from her appearance on BW. With my research for Bewitched fanfare 2014, I contacted Chris and over the past few months I have had the pleasure of getting to know her. She is delightful, she cherishes every second of all her career, modeling/tv/film etc and has and still contributes so much to veteran affairs. Chris is so sincerly looking forward to meeting everyone in September, and sharing her "Bewitched" experience."Mommy, I only have little legs, for me this is hurry!!"
Thanks, Shemp! I didn't know about that connection. And I can't wait to watch China Beach again. It's been on my Netflix Q for about 5 years!! "Witches are good! Witches are dear!"
