Hi everyone, does anyone know if Agnes Moorehead's secretary signed Moorehead's name to autograph requests? I recently bought on eBay an Agnes autograph that was obtained through the mail in 1973. I talked with the seller and I have no reason to doubt his story, but I'm stupidly realizing now it doesn't quite look like her signature that you see elsewhere. The "g" is more 8-ish, the first loop on the "M" is going the other way, and the "d" is different. When I bought the autograph, I did find other signatures just like this one online and did just now too, so I'm wondering if these were her secretary's style of doing her signature?
You can see her definitely real signature on Harpies in the Agnes Archives, which looks more like most of the other ones you see online:
It would be great if I just had a variation on her signature, but it seems too off for me.

Yes, this happened quite often. Many autographed photos and signatures on typed letters to fans are secretarial, particularly from the early 1960s through the end of her life.
I've had opportunity to study her handwriting up close, and usually find it easy to tell the difference between AM's own signature and a secretary's. The first image you posted is of a secretarial signature.
