Bluff Creek Marina is one of my favorite spots for boat rentals — super friendly staff and solid boat options. As a fellow “once-first-timer,” I’d say first off, get there a bit early so you have enough time to do a walk-through and ask questions (they actually encourage this). You don’t want to be figuring things out when you’re already drifting off the dock. Also, pack light but smart — sunscreen, water, a dry bag for phones, etc. Oh, and keep in mind, there are some local boating rules they’ll brief you on.
