There is a new Evel Knievel book to be released this coming April, 2011.
The title is just called "Evel Knievel". It's a hard cover by Leigh Montville.
The cover has a cool close up of Evel wearing his old blue Bell Star (Caesars Palace) helmet from the 60s. They are taking pre orders and I just ordered mine.
I tried to post a photo of it here but didn't have much luck. So how do you post a photo on this message board ?
I also have some very rare photos of Evel jumping that damned old top heavy American Eagle.
It shows him flying over a empty area by a cyclone fence. He is all cock-eyed in the air and the photos show him doing a faceplant on the landing ramp and then a crash. It also shows George Hamilton watching up close. These were probably taken as Hamilton was doing his homework on Evel before making the movie in "71.
