Thanks for your note to me and yes I saw Robbie on main street when everyone was lining up for the ride on street bikes. Robbie was riding about a 46-47 Harley Knuckle Head which has a hand shifter on the side of the gas tank and a foot clutch.
Damn hard to ride when you are not used to it but Robbie rode it in the parade and did a great job looking like he was comfortable on it. He was looking healthy, happy, and was talking with anyone everyone.
That is what I said he before only with fewer words. So now yah have it.
We met in Butte back in 1981 when I was traveling thru town going to Canada to do a jump in Calgary, We have talked several times including during a radio intervew where both of us were on the air together from our phones. He was part of a Vince Neil Concert I did in Colorado and he and I talked some then and he leaned over and give me a hug and called me BROTHER...........we do not exchange Christmas gifts or anything like that but what that meant was we RESPECT each other.
I know that Robbie does not run his website. He probably had a webguy that did and now doesnt and cannot get into it to change anything ......that happens.
Is he retired or just plain tired. Not sure ,,,,but what I know is that I respect him and his father and the rest of the family.
Anyone knows that I did not write that reporters story, they chose to use those words. All I have done is tell the truth. That is my way.
Once a British news guy came to Evel days - the last one that Evel attended and did an interview. Find that interview and listen to Evel tell about the G forces made him black out.
What I know is that no matter what Evel was a Bad Ass and what it took was guts to hit that igniter and blast off that stand no matter what!
Evel was the Kind and as far as I am concerned Robbie is the Prince.
I hope I answered what you were asking about and thank you for your question and comments.

: This is not intended to insult or cause
: problems. Just wondered if you spoke
: personally with Robbie and your intent to
: attempt some sort of Canyon jump. Perhaps
: you know more than you want to tell if you
: did discuss it. You mentioned seeing him at
: Evel Days and he looked good. The rest of us
: are kind of hung out to dry on this issue.
: Some care, some didn't care for Robbie or
: his accomplishments at all which is
: confusing to me if you are a true
: "daredevil" cyclejumping fan. If
: he is retired, fine, no problem with that,
: he has earned retirement the hard way. click
: on robbieknievel.com and it says "site
: under construction". He hasn't
: abandoned it, definitely needed updating.
: Maybe all our questions will be answered
: soon by him. The reporter who wrote about
: your Twin Falls interview needs to reword
: the beginning of the article. Saying you are
: going to do "what Evel couldn't
: do". He was a man of his word,
: knowingly climbed into a doomed rocket and
: took it as far as it would go, no control
: over that. Him blacking out due to the G
: force and accidentally hitting the chute
: button is a version i never had heard of
: before. I honestly think his odds for
: success were considerably higher than yours
: based on how you will attempt to get to the
: other side. That said, like ya Big Ed, never
: met ya, but you are a cyclejumping
: daredevil. Good luck.
