Nobody should wish otherwise to somebody with his addiction. It is possible. Look at charlie Sheen. How about Robert Downey Jr. and his was a severe drug addiction. He is now back on top with Ironman & Sherlock Holmes. Prayer will get a lot farther than wishes. I'll pray for him and wish him success in conquering this addiction.
