8mm was some good stuff. I had a wind up 8mm standard and it took great movies. Very crisp! Film is better than video and digital in my opinion. When you digitize film it loses resolution unless you compact the ones and zeros and even then, a digital zero is off. With non-digital (analog) film it's always a digital one or always on in other words. Video is a different material than film I believe. Film had a cellulose material that really captured light better as long as there was ample light. Video probably needs less light I'm guessing.
